McAfee Total Protection Enterprise

This McAfee VirusScan Desktop Protection is available to faculty, staff, and students for home use. You must know your UF Gatorlink ID and password to download this software.

Getting Started:
  1. If you do not have virus protection on your computer, download the VirusScan Desktop Protection software.
  2. If you already have McAfee VirusScan installed, built into the VirusScan v4.51, VirusScan v8.x and VirusScan v7.x is a mechanism that will update the program:
    • In McAfee v8.x & v7.x, place the cursor on the "V shield" icon in the bottom right corner of your screen and press the right mouse button. In the pop up menu select Update Now.
    • In McAfee v4.5.1, open the "VirusScan Console" icon in the bottom right corner of your screen. Select and Run "AutoUPDATE" task in the list.
  3. If you have McAfee VirusScan installed and would like to update the virus definitions manually, click the Engine and DAT files link below

Mcafee releases new .DAT files weekly. To ensure that your anti-virus software can protect your system or network against the latest virus threats, download and install the latest .DAT or Superdat files.
